AECOM Hunt, in a joint venture, served as CM for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport North Terminal. This new 35-gate airport terminal is just under 1,000,000 SF, spread across three concourses.
The new terminal also includes a parking garage, surface parking, airline ticket offices and ticketing hall. The nearly $1 billion project is the first new terminal constructed in the United States since The Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal at Indianapolis International Airport, completed in 2008 by AECOM Hunt.
The new terminal was designed with an ease-of-use customer experience in mind, featuring centralized local restaurants and retail shops, a new consolidated security checkpoint, an open concept design and a new inbound and outbound in-line baggage system.
